Business Support Manager
7th January 2025
Woodley School and College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and capable Business Support Manager working as a PA & Admin Manager. The post will be for 37 hours per week during term time, plus 5 inset days and 5 days during school holidays. This could be negotiable for the right person to apply for the role.

Woodley School and College is a Kirklees Local Authority, aspirational, inclusive and outward looking special school in Huddersfield for children aged 5-19 with complex autism. There are currently 179 pupils on roll.
The school is rated as 'Good' by Ofsted (2023), holds Advanced Autism Accreditation and is the Autism Education Trust licensed training provider for Kirklees Local Authority. This recognises the highest standards of autism expertise and practice and underpins the school’s important role as a school training hub.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our friendly and busy business support team. We want an effective and motivated professional who is resilient, willing to learn with ambition for the pupils, themselves and the school. You will lead the office team to offer an effective level of support to staff, including the Senior Team and Governors, to ensure the effective running of the school. We believe it is every staff members responsibility to contribute, through their roles and responsibilities, to support all pupils to have full access to their educational opportunities and overcome barriers to learning, putting the students at the centre of everything we do.
The ability to work directly with various stakeholders is essential, in particular parents/carers, Governors and the Local Authority.
The role includes being a member of and working closely with the Senior Team, particularly the Headteacher as their PA. You will need to be able to demonstrate trust, confidentiality, excellent organisation skills and good time keeping ensuring deadlines are met. You will manage emails, diaries, co-ordinate, facilitate and minute meetings. You will also support the Business Manager in elements of their role that fall within administration tasks of the office team such as recruitment, staffing, processes and systems.

You will be someone who will share our vision for high standards in all aspects of school life. Particular emphasis will be on supporting learning and social and emotional needs, working alongside the class teacher. The ability to relate with children/young people from diverse backgrounds is essential for this job, as well as having good verbal communication skills in order to liaise with children/young people and other staff members.
